Organized by Collegeof New Energy and Environment, Jilin University, the "Water Resources and Environment Online Forum for International Young Scholars" was held online on July 10, 2020. This forum aims to inspire a high-level academic exchange and cooperation among outstanding young scholars at home and abroad to explore international frontier topics of water resources and environment, and to open a new pathway for the future talent recruitment. The forum was presided over by Professor DONG Jun,Vice Dean of College of New Energy and Environment.Professor XU Tianfu, Dean of College of New Energy and Environment,delivered the opening speech and briefly introduced thecurrent situationof the College, includingthe organization of discipline, faculty structure, scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation and globalcooperation. The forum gathered twelve young scholars from MIT, Harvard University, Waterloo University of Canada, National University of Singapore and other world-renowned universities. They presented a rich academic feast through online reports, which was attended by more than 200 teachers and students to communicate online.Forumreports mainly aboutthe topics of Water Treatment Technology &Resource Utilization, New Energy &CO²Geological Storage, Groundwater Pollution Remediation, Hydrology & Water Resources,Energy, Environment and Economy and other relevantresearch fields. After the report, the young scholars who participated online had a deepdiscussion on the relevant content. The forum closed with remarks byProfessor DONG Jun, hesincerely extended histhanks and appreciation to everyattendees’ participation and supporting, and invited young scholars to visit the College in the near future.
