On July 12th,the "2022 Water Resources and Environment Online Forum for International Young Scholars" was held jointly by the College of New Energy and Environment (CNEE),the National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Petrochemical Contaminated Site Control and Remediation Technology, and Key Laobratory of Groundwater Resources and Environment, Ministry of Education, Jilin Universiy.The Forum is held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of geosicence of the college. The young scholars from the University of Tokyo, the University of Adelaide, the Swiss Federal Insititute of Aquatic Science and Technology, Nanjing University,Jilin University and other well-known universities at home and abroad presented an academic feast in the form of online academic reports, attracting neraly 100 teachers and students to watch and exchange opinions online.
The forum was chaired by Prof. Dong Jun, Deputy Dearn of CNEE. Xu Tianfu,Dean of CNEE delivered an opening speech and briefly introduced the discipline setting, faculty, scientific and technological innovation, talent training, and international cooperation and exchanges of the college. After that, 11 young teachers shared recent academic achievements in various hot fields of water resources and environment,such as groundwater pollution simulation, environmental materials, environmental biotechnology, and electrochemistry, and had active and in-depth exchanges with teachers and students on relevant content. Finally, Deputy Dean Dong Jun summarized the forum. He expressed his sincere gratitude toward the young scholars for their active participation and support, and invited them to visit and work at Jilin University in the future.
The forum served as a high-level acdemic exchage and cooperation platform for outstanding young scholars at home and abroad, broadened the academic vision of teachers and students of the College, helped expand the international visibility of the College, and opened new channels for the introduction of high-caliber talents in the future.
