Professor Cao Yaofeng, Male, Ethnically Han, was born in Weinan, Shaanxi on December 1953. He is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is also a Professorial Senior Engineer, member and deputy general manager of Sinopec Group Company, and a Guest Professor of China Petroleum University (East China Campus).

Professor Cao is currently director of the steering committee of the National Geothermal Energy Center, executive committee member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and deputy director of the China Energy Research Association.

Professor Cao earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from East China Petroleum Institute in 1977. Upon graduation, he was hired by the Shengli Oilfield as a dual-tract petroleum engineer and management position. In 2001, he received his master's degree in mechanical design and theory from China University of Petroleum (East China Campus), and was named senior engineer at the same year. Professor Cai has multiple national laurels under his cap, including one distinguished achievement award from the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one National Management Innovation Award, and five provincial and ministerial awards for science and technology progress, including for his pioneering contributions to the large-scale safe and environmental-friendly extraction of ultra-deep and high acid gas reservoirs.

Throughout his career, Professor Cao has a long history of practical experience in oil and gas engineering technology, construction, and management. Since 2006, Professor Cao has been working in Dazhou, Sichuan Province. He was responsible for organizing and implementing various national projects, including the National Eleventh Five-Year Plan project, the Sichuan-Eastern China Gas Pipeline Project, and has made significant breakthroughs in large-scale safe and efficient development of ultra-deep and high-acid gas reservoirs. Professor Cao is a trailblazer for applying system optimization in guiding major technologies and large-scale projects. His projects all pursued the organic unity of economic, social and ecological benefits, and he has paid close attention to the development and application of green and low-carbon technologies. Consequently, he has explored many new management models for energy projects.

Professor Wang holds two major national science and technology grants, namely the "Safe and Efficient Extraction Technology for High-Sulfur Gas Reservoirs Project", and the "Large High-Sulfur Gas Field Extraction Demonstration Project". He also holds several large-scale development projects for ultra-deep and high-acid gas fields.

Professor Wang has successfully organized and implemented the domestic production of key concepts, equipment and materials, including the first series of Chinese engineered tool set for large-scale development of ultra-deep and highly acidic gas fields, as well as the first set of domestic standards for the extraction, construction, and safety management of ultra-deep and high-acid gas fields.

Professor Wang is responsible for successfully organizing the construction of the first super deep and high acid gas field in China, the second largest high-acid natural gas purification plant in the world and another large natural gas pipeline across the east and west of China.

For his pioneering contributions to the large-scale safe and environmental-friendly development of ultra-deep and high acid gas reservoirs, he was nominated to become an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and successfully gained membership in the second round.
