Professor Zhang has undertaken 10 projects funded by the National Natural Science Fund Committee, the Ministry of Science and Technology and China Geological Survey, including the National Water Pollution Control and Treatment Science and Technology Major Project, the National Key Research and Development Project for Soil, the National Environmental Protection Public Welfare Industry Targeted Research Fund, etc.

she has published over 20 SCI papers as first or correspondence author, attained one invention patent and published one monograph and one textbook (as coauthor), and won the Second Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Jilin Province (Ranking 3rd and 5rd, respectively).
