Achievements Outline
Prof. Ma has been the PI for projects including National Natural Science Foundation of China. Prof. Ma obtained his Ph.D. at Rutgers University in 2008 and his dissertation focused on molecular genetics and chemical kinetics of selenium reduction by soil bacteria. Before joined in Jilin University, Prof. Ma has been involved in several research projects funded by United States Department of Agriculture and United States Department of Energy as a major team-player. Prof. Ma has made major contribution in molecular geomicrobiology of selenium, and in fate of E. coli O157:H7 and Salmonella in soil and water environment. Prof. Ma has authored or co-authored for more than 50 research articles, and most of them were published in leading journals in the field, including Environmental Science & Technology and Environmental Microbiology. Currently, Prof. Ma is a review editor for Frontiers in Microbiology, a contribution member of American Society for Microbiology, and an active peer reviewer for nearly 20 journals in environmental science and engineering, and a communication reviewer for NSFC grants.
