Jilin Province International Collaboration Base for Underground New Energy Exploration and Geoenvironment Remediation

Jilin Province International Collaboration Base for Underground New Energy Exploration and Geoenvironment Remediation is based on the construction of the first-level national key disciplines of geological resources and geological engineering of Jilin University, with Key Laboratory of Earth Information Exploration Technology of the Ministry of Education, Key Laboratory of Groundwater Resources and Environment of the Ministry of Education, Engineering Research Center for Geothermal Resources Development Technology and Equipment of the Ministry of Education, Key Laboratory of Earth Exploration Technology and Instruments of the Ministry of Land and Resources, and Complex Condition Drill of the Ministry of Land and Resources National and provincial laboratories such as the Key Laboratory of Mining Technology, Key Laboratory of Water Resources and Environment of Jilin Province, Underground Space Exploration Engineering Laboratory of Jilin Province Development and Reform Commission as the platform support and backing, bring the academic, resource, and environmental advantages of multidisciplinary cross-disciplinary into full play, and extensively carry out international cooperation and exchanges.

Backed by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Jilin Provincial Government-School Co-construction Project, and the China Geological Survey Project, the base conducts geological and geothermal geological surveys for specific domestic test sites, establishes a regional three-dimensional hydrothermal coupling simulation model, and conducts hydrothermal output simulation and hydrogeochemical simulation, providing a theoretical basis for the evaluation of recoverable geothermal resources and the operation of actual geothermal reinjection projects.

The base has successively established cooperation and exchanges with more than 20 world-class scientific research institutions in more than 10 countries including the United States, Russia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, South Korea, France, Germany and Singapore. The ways of cooperation and communication include project cooperation, project consultation, seminars on professional issues, academic reports, lectures, holding international conferences, etc.
