National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Petrochemical Contaminated Site Control and Remediation Technology


The National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Petrochemical Contaminated Site Control and Remediation Technology is a national scientific research and innovation platform approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2016, with Jilin University as the base.

The overall goal of the engineering laboratory is in response to the major strategic needs of national environmental science and technology development in the new era, taking leading the development of China's contaminated site control and remediation field as the purpose, pooling and integrating innovative resources, realizing the integration of industry, university, research institutes, and transformation and application, improving China’s independent innovation capability and core competitiveness in the field of contaminated site remediation, providing core technologies with independent intellectual property rights for the development of contaminated site control and remediation industry, enhancing the original innovation and sustainable development capabilities of contaminated site control and remediation technology, and providingtechnical support and guarantee for the strategic needs of China’s contaminated site control and remediation.

The main task of the engineering laboratory is centering on the major strategic needs of national environmental development in the new era, to conduct contaminated site investigation and risk assessment technology, contaminated site control and remediation technology, contaminated site remediation functional materials, contaminated site remediation equipment and technique, and contaminated site remediation technology and equipment integration and engineering application. A series of basic theories and key technologies with independent intellectual property rights have been established to cultivate relevant talents. Besides, it undertakes major national issues in the field of contaminated site control and remediation, actively carries out cooperation and exchanges between industry, university and research institutes, and providing new technology for the field of contaminated site control and remediation.

The engineering laboratory will pursue the concept of collaborative innovation, openness and sharing, pool superior R&D resources, make major breakthrough in key technologies in the field of contaminated site control and remediation, and transform scientific research results into public services through engineering applications, achievement transformation, and industrial cultivation, shaping up a sustainable development mechanism for sound growth.
